Add to your parenting mojo by attending PEP Talks in Vancouver: win tickets here!

I’ve said before how I’m not a big fan of parenting books.  It’s partly because I’m stubborn and like to figure stuff out on my own and partly because I’m lazy and, if I am going to read a book, I want it to be somewhat of an escape for me…not a reminder of everything I am doing wrong with my kids!  Parent talks, however, those I can do.  Maybe it’s the comfort of knowing there are others in the room who are just as effing confused as I am, looking for some shred of insight to help them through the roller coaster of parenthood.

This is why I was excited when a friend of mine told me about PEP Talks.

PEP Talks is a new speaker series presented by the Vancouver International Children’s Festival and brings to Vancouver four compelling speakers over four consecutive months (March through June 2013) to delve into the challenging and sometimes messy world of parenting today’s millennial child.

A list of the featured speakers and their topics of expertise can be found here.
Tickets are $130 to attend all four speakers or $35 to attend individual events.  PEP Talks will take place at the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre and proceeds will benefit the Vancouver International Children’s Festival.

I have two tickets to the Lenore Skenazy PEP Talk on March 7th, to give away!

Lenore Skenazy is “America’s Worst Mom.” (Google it!) The New York City columnist-turned reality TV show host got that title after letting her 9-year-old son take the subway, alone. In response to the enormous media blowback, she founded the book and blog, “Free-Range Kids,” which launched the anti-helicopter parenting movement.
