Absurd Vancouver Property of the Week (October 25, 2012)

This Arbutus home is $2.6 Million dollars.

The listing says, “…surrounded with many Million Dollar New Homes.”

My question:  why would you pay $2.6 Million for a run down bungalow, when you could have a new home for a million dollars?

Should read “Multi-million dollar new homes…”

Great example of realtor fail on the old promotional writing.  Now that the market is getting a little more competitive, they may need to brush up on those editing skills.  Just sayin’…these houses may not always sell themselves.

Vancouver…are you f*%#ing kidding me??!!

  1. Beyond ridiculous! This is why people are leaving and (like myself) considering leaving Vancouver. How much can we put up with this?

Because million dollar homes are too mainstream.

What a house lists for and what it actually sells for are not the same thing. The Arbutus neighborhood has long been known as the premiere asset parking space for asians.
Have a look at what they’re doing in Hong Kong to curb this.

My favourite is the “Close to St. George’s and Crofton House Private School”…if your definition of close is 5 km away, then pretty much anything west of Burrard Street would fall under that description…

I left Vancouver in 2003 for London, UK. London is a little bit cheaper to live, but my salary more than doubled. Vancouver a dead end…never again.
