I am a 35 (almost 36 gulp) … and is preparing for a 40th b-day meltdown lol. I have 3 kids and live with my amazing partner (not married, but after all these year I suppose we may as well be!) Our youngest is 2 and definitely keeps us on our toes. I attempt to do my best at juggling (balance is NOT the right word) day to day (mundane) life (known as dishes, cleaning, laundry etc etc) with work, exercise, my kids activities, time for my partner, time for me, travel…. I’ve recently cut my work week down to focus on my passion of photography. I LIVE life! http://angieb.smugmug.com/
Occupation: Mom, partner, insurance broker and photographer
You mean the REAL ones?.. well I suppose I’m a FV “wife” (fraser valley) so maybe this doesn’t count. Hardworking, attempting to balance work, pleasure, kids, activities – all without a gardener, chef, nanny, personal shopper!
Are you a good representation of a Vancouver Housewife? Why?
I suppose I could represent the average housewife/mom (does it count if my partner and I aren’t technically married?) Maybe I represent the growing number of same sex couples that have entered into the world of parenthood together.
Do you feel that living in Vancouver in some way defines who you are? Please explain.
Well again, living in the FV… maybe it does define me? I suppose it’s not something I have ever considered. As in, I’ve never felt that my postal code is a reflection of who I am or who I strive to be.
Have you ever had cosmetic surgery, Botox, Restalyne injections, etc.? If so, please provide details. If you haven’t had any of the above procedures performed, would you consider it?
None, although I do admit that I wouldn’t rule out possibly getting rid of some of the little lines that have begun popping up (or sinking in!) however that is way in myfuture, and then I’m sure my head with become reasonable and I would prefer to spend the money on something that provides amazing memories rather than smoothing the lines. Lines are proof I’ve lived a wonderful exciting adventurous life!
Other than your children (if applicable), what is the accomplishment of which you are most proud?
Jumping out of an airplane despite my huge fear of heights. Hiking through 17 of the states and seeing all the amazing natural beauty mother nature gave us. Being true to myself, coming out of the closet and living MY life…
Has the desire for affluence/power/money been a motivator in the choices you’ve made for your life?
Well considering I’m not powerful, don’t have loads of money then I suppose those are not motivators – not saying I don’t dream of what I would DO with loads of money! The choices I’ve made (good and bad) have led me to where I am, and I am happy with that… and I will continue to let my gut/intuition be my motivation.
Tell us about your stuff. What do you like to buy, collect, etc.
I love to take photos, so maybe I’m a documenter – a collector of memories?
Do you have “staff” in your home? (E.g. nanny, driver, chef, etc.)
I suppose I can’t say my kids, or I’ll have some child labour issues… nope no staff
Do you belong to any clubs, teams, groups or social organizations?
Facebook, twitter? Do those count?! I have been a part of photography, running, book, art, fitness groups and clubs – whatever my interest and passion.. I follow it.
Finish this sentence: “My life’s motto is ….”
Live life, don’t sit back and let someone else take the steering wheel…
