The 2012 Vancouver Home + Design Show is October 11th to 14th at BC Place Stadium! Spend a day getting ideas about your next design or renovation project, or just dream about the possibilities ahead if and when you do have a space you want to doll up!
You can expect the country’s top authorities on design, style and renovating to hit the HGTV Main Stage in full force. Feature presentations will be from Bryan Baeumler, host of HGTV’s Leave It To Bryan, and Jillian Harris, design host of W Network’s Love It or List It Vancouver, the west-coast spin-off of W’s hit series, plus celebrity stylist Janette Ewen, designer Alykhan Velji and colour expert Maria Killam.
And, fashionistas, take note! The city’s best-known bloggers-turned-models will cut a fine figure on Friday, October 12 as Park Royal presents the season’s sartorial must-haves, complete with coveted gift bags and a $2,500 shopping spree giveaway. Best clear those closets sooner than later.

These days I’d say a house is a home when the dogs are fed and asleep, there’s enough money left after mortgage and bills to buy a bottle of good wine, and the strata council has gone a whole month without creating a new rule relating to trash.
I house is a home when you hear the sounds of kids laughing, the screen door slamming, and the birds tweeting!
I think a house is not a home until you set it up the way you want it, have friends and family over and enjoy some wine!
I know I should say that “love is what makes a house a home”, but being an obsessed lover of home decor and design, I have to say a home that is designed with the needs of a family in mind, while still being beautiful, warm and inviting… that’s what makes my house a home. Oh ya, and love, blah blah.
