Absurd Vancouver Property of the Week (May 10/2012)
People keep saying you can’t get a home for under a million dollars on Vancouver’s Westside. Baloney, I say. Seemingly, prices are dropping so there has definitely got to be a nice Westside house available for under a million.
And…there is!!!
Presenting the cheapest house on Vancouver’s Westside:
Listing price: $938,000
Wow. And you even get to have the coveted “W.” in front of your address. Whadda bargain! Located right on convenient Oak Street (at 70th), this beauty has four bedrooms, two kitchens (!!) and two bathrooms. Imagine the convenience of living seconds away from the bridges that take you to the Airport, Richmond and beyond!! And all for under a million dollars – unbelievable!
Or, for under a million, you could buy this home in Halifax, Nova Scotia:
I find it amusing that this (listed at $789K) is described as a “Vancouver” style home…um, not at this price point (see above).
Hmmm…not feeling Halifax? How about Houston, Texas?
Listed at $800K, this home has 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a garage apartment with its own bathroom, and is on 0.13 acres of land.
Prefer to be close to the ocean??
How about this L.A. home, which used to belong to “The Big Bang Theory” star, Simon Helberg.
It doesn’t have the convenience of being on a busy street, where you can quickly access the freeway and airport, though. But…for $795K, c’mon, you can’t have everything.
Vancouver….Are you f*%#ing kidding me??

you are all just jealous
Yup, Bob. That’s totally it…
Oak and 70th sounds like the most depressing location in the city. I wouldn’t rent there, let alone buy.
